User-Generated Content & Mods a Major Selling Point for VR Games

VR is a platform that thrives on innovation, and creators are hungry to create user-generated content and mods for their favourite VR titles. If you look at Nexus Mods, the 13th most downloaded title is Blade & Sorcery, with over 45 million downloads. When they're given the tools, it's clear that UGC creators are thriving in the creation of content for VR titles.

BONEWORKS, which released in 2019, stayed at the forefront of VR gaming for a few reasons. One of them being it's incredible immersion and gameplay. The other, however, was it's incredible mod community. When Stress Level Zero designed its follow-up, BONELAB, they developed the game with mod support in mind. While BONEWORKS has mods available, BONELAB offers official VR mod support. In their first 24 hours on mod.io, BONELAB players downloaded almost 300,000 mods, a number which has grown to over 4.6 million in just five weeks.
