I'm looking for non-beginner unity programmers for an RTS inspired by Red Alert, Tiberian Sun, Supreme Commander and other games from the golden age of RTS games. This game will take place in the near future and will feature slightly scifi units but with a very military feel to them. We are currently working on a demo for publishers and we are at about 70% of the way there.

Team size
The team is currently 15 people big of which 6 are programmers.

What are we looking for?
- Programmers (at minimum 5 hours per week. Direct correleation between time spent & quality)
- 3D artists (show portfolio)
- 2D artists (concept art, GUI art)
- Composers who can make Frank Klepacki style music (send the track that most closely resembles it please and/or make a small demo)
- General game developers (basically any role that knows a bit about development in unity but can spend a lot of time creating or improving levels, visuals, explosions, particle effects, animations or anything else that increases the projces quality even more

What are you getting?
Once funding comes in (roughly 3 months after the demo is completed, but no guarantee of course) you will get the choice of either a percentage of the profit or being paid an hourly amount of money, or a combination of both. Whatever you prefer at that point. This game is also guaranteed to finish and the odds of getting a decent publisher are also higher than average. This is based both on past experience and the current agency that already does this professionally.

Future prospects
If working together is pleasant and productive then I also intend to actually hire you for future projects should you be interested.

Interested in completing a decent quality game?
Send me a DM with your portfolio / experience and why you want to join and let's talk! If you're applying as a programmer and don't have a portfolio just tell me a bit about what networking experience you have and if there are any projects you've completed so far ^^

Isn't 7 programmers a bit much?

ya, i know it's an RTS, but still?

maybe recruit or train a lead programmer?

potentially offload some of the pressure of you who i assume is also programming?

5 hours a week is not much, if your looking for that kind of time bracket, maybe it be better to rebalance the time among the other 6 programmers?

No it's not. RTS games are one of the most complex games to make and people work on this project fulltime. Having 10 fulltime programmers on an RTS in which you want to deliver quality would be fine too. The skill level of the programmers also matters. 1 senior is worth 2 mediors etc.

You're assuming I don't already have one.

You're assuming I haven't already done this too.

People have fulltime jobs and do this next to this. Most indie developers think they have oceans of time, but then real life comes up; school, work, family, love, health etc. If you're already doing this next to a fulltime job asking for more isn't right. I hope people do more of course. But 5 hours is the MINIMUM because anything under that it costs me more time than it gains the project in benefit.

Sounds like we both made some unfounded assumptions.
