Scary Forest

I continued working on figuring out how to represent a forest with the limitations of my engine. I know from experience that in dense woods, light dims very quickly, so I figured I'd only need a few layers of real trees to sell the effect. This and the fog effect will make it seem as though the dense woods go on forever. Even with the default fog setting, it looks really convincing.

Default flat lighting, before bake. Already difficult to see where the real trees end and where a wall of tree texture begin.
The default fog already gives a nice sense of depth before any light baking even takes place
After baking, this lighting layer is applied onto the textures. You can see how quickly light fades away in the woods.
Everything combined looks amazing.

Tomorrow, I gotta fix that bugs in the skybox. I really want to see an nice sky behind those trees.

This is very interesting! It is really intriguing to see all those effects some together! I can't wait for the skybox.
