VRML1 is the first iteration of the Virtual Reality Markup Language - it has lighting, simple behaviors, cameras and can be translated into VRML 2 on Windows machines with the Crossroads 3d file converter translator software for small to medium size files, and vrml1tovrml2 command line software for larger files.
