Talk:Reality Factory
From GDWiki
Hm... I thought that this was a PROGRAMMING wiki. I'm not saying we can't have this here but sooner or later we're going to have to decide whether things like this are allowed, because I think pretty soon there will be a flood of these things. --Snoolas 15:44, 19 Apr 2005 (EDT)
- Well, it doesn't bother me too much, since all the content we'll ever really have for these types of "game maker tools" will be links and general info (ie. You can't really have programming tutorials for them anyway). And I don't really see what it hurts; some people may genuinely be happy to find this info! However, I do object to this being categorized as a library! Perhaps we should start a new "Game Creation Tool" category? Ryan Clark 16:02, 19 Apr 2005 (EDT)
[edit] New Section Seconded
A "Game Creation Tool" section sounds good to me... these things have their place, just not the same place as libraries. My only concern is that the line between "Game Engines" and "Game Creation Tools" might be a bit blurry. --Wade 19:17, 19 Apr 2005 (EDT)
- It wouldn't be that blurry. If it calls itself an engine and the user is encouraged to code ontop of it in some form other than script, then it is an engine. Game Creation Tools are specially designed to let you make a game without coding. But anyway, I third the idea. Now, if someone would get around to adding it... --Snoolas 20:20, 19 Apr 2005 (EDT)
- Ok, I recategorized it, but I don't have time to fill out the content of the Game Creation Tools category page. Anyone want to write a blurb on the new category page, and categorize the other Game Creation Tools? Ryan Clark 21:44, 19 Apr 2005 (EDT)
