Not to much to report, although I do have a rather deep entry in the works, which I will get to in due time (when I can edit it not at 2 in the morning).

Get Away From The Chopper

I did complete a spinning animation for the Hind, the enemy helicopter, however:

Actual, pixel-y Size

Biggar. Needs more refinement, but pretty good so far

Yeah, so all I need to do now is make a damaged animated version (trivial using Photoshop) so we can give that sucker some really sweet crash scenarios. The only problem is figuring out how to rearrange the texture- Sir Sapo loathes to shift things around in textures, since it's more work he has to do, and he's lazy. We might have to ditch the 2 pieces thing, especially if the spinning looks good.

Hm, I wonder if Sir Sapo could put a spinning line in there for the rotor during crashes. It would be pretty sick (in more ways than one) if the rotor flew off and impaled the hapless pilot who ejected at the wrong time...

-Goodnight!

PS: Oh, and we're thinking about mouse control now (as an alternative, not a change), any thoughts?

I quite like the idea of mouse control, at least for pointing the direction of the aircraft. Keep the keyboard for throttle control, and the mouse for aiming. Heck, just try it out and see how it works. I could be totally way off base.

Mind you, it looks like I might be the only one so far... [grin]

Haha, right. Well, it's important to keep other people's opinions in mind, since your judgment gets clouded by being so close to a project for so long...

Back in the day, when we introduced Angels 20 to our high school computer class, people had the hardest time not running into the ground, since you field of view was so small. Maybe someday we'll go all the way and make auto-terrain avoidance. That, or aim for a smarter player base.
