Monday lunch just concluded. After talking with some people who went to the AI Summit, the mood from there appears to be one of a direction toward AI in character behaviors more than just pathfinding and such. Also a sense of movement toward dealing with destructible environments.

I agree with your comments on the Election Games talk. They weren't well prepared and as a panel discussion I didn't hear a clear message other than "you serious games developers should try to get the politicians to pay for games during the next election." It didn't need to take an hour for that message.
