Reviews and coding and companies

I finished my Enterprise Architect review this morning and have sent it to John. Normally it should appear tomorrow. There are still some reviews scheduled (SVN tools, compare tools, Team Foundation Server) and I've already some companies requesting reviews of their applications and tools but I'll have to see where to fit them because currently my only open spots seem to be in the end of April.

I'm stressed by the work I do for my clients because there's so much to do. I'll hire someone to help me out in the near future but before I can do that, I'll found my company. Currently I'm a freelance developer using Sidema as my "artist" name. The last couple of years I've earned too much and thus I pay to much taxes (for my taste). A company not only would help me to reduce the amount of taxes I have to pay, but is also the next logical step. I still have to decide if I go lonely or with a partner. Having a partner would be more interesting because a) you have to put less money upon company creation and b) it's easier to split your work with someone who's really motivated to get this thing going. On the other hand creating it yourself does not put your in a responsibility relation with a partner. You're only responsible to yourself and the people you hire. But you need more money to start. I'm currently talking to a friend of mine who is ok creating the company with me. I'll see how that goes because on thursday latest I want to take a decision. Time is running :)

It's the same friends with whom I'm working on my secret project. We're currently writing and discussing the project pitch (it's not a game) before starting the requirements document. Perhaps the project will be the companies first own project. Who knows?

I've not yet received any response from a graphic artist willing to help me out with some sketches for the next vote. So, the next vote will be later. In the meantime I'm looking into improving the website. I don't really like the way it's set up with tikiwiki. While I liked the idea to have the entire game design document in a wiki, it can be painful if you can not quickly jump from topic to topic or have a complete document in one view. I'll take a look into Google Documents for that.

Have fun,
Stefan
